Lotto America is a mid-sized jackpot game held three times a week and available in fifteen states.
Lotto America’s top prize is a traditional pari-mutuel jackpot that grows over time as it goes unclaimed. The biggest Lotto America jackpot paid to date occurred in April 2023, when a player from Iowa won a $40.03 million prize with a lump sum value of $21.28 million.
Players can buy Lotto America tickets for $1 and may spend an extra dollar to activate the game’s All-Star Bonus, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, or five times.

Lotto America’s $3-$40 million jackpots often go overlooked in a media landscaped dominated by the billion-dollar prizes Powerball and Mega Millions produce on occasion, but the game serves a valuable niche in mid-sized state markets that would otherwise struggle to reliably generate seven-figure jackpots on their own.
In mid-sized states, Lotto America occupies the middle-ground between small, daily draw games like Pick 3 and mega-jackpot games like Powerball. Lotto America has smaller jackpots than the latter, but it costs half as much and provides drastically better odds.
For example, players have about a 1 in 302 million chance to win the Powerball jackpot and about a 1 in 26 million chance to win the top prize in Lotto America. That means players are more than eleven times likelier to win a Lotto America jackpot.
