Circa Sports Review
Circa Sports is a Nevada-based sportsbook operator that promises to charge less vigorish and accept bigger bets than the competition as a book “where the pros play.”
That’s a bold claim in the competitive online sports betting industry, and our Circa Sportsbook review will take a close look at those statements.
- Legal in CO, IL, IA, KY, and NV
- iOS and Android Compatible
- Top choice for sharp bettors
- Doesn't ban winners
Read on for a close look at the Circa Sportsbook betting app, lines, limits, welcome bonus, and other features.
Pros
Competitive linesDoes not limit winning bettorsHigh betting limitsCons
Lackluster mobile appDoes not offer a welcome bonusThe Circa Sports business model differs from most in that it does not shy away from from big bettors and winners. While many online sportsbooks are quick to reduce limits on winning bettors, Circa Sports head Derek Stevens regularly tells media outlets that his approach to the business is to put customers first and take action from anyone.
Which States Does Circa Sports Operate In?
The Circa Sports app offers online sports betting in five states, with more coming soon:
Circa Sports Promo Code and Bonuses
Circa Sportsbook does not yet offer a welcome bonus – nor any promotions for that matter. Unlike most online sportsbooks, Circa Sports does not offer a new user bonus or accept any promo codes for special offers.
The lack of a bonus is surprising because Circa Sports operates in several highly competitive markets. However, Circa Sportsbook makes it clear that its chief selling point is providing long-term value to customers by taking less commission than the competition.
Whether or not this is a tradeoff worth taking depends on the habits of each customer. Customers who plan to stick around for a while or who will become high-volume bettors may actually find more value through lower commissions than they would have for a one-time bonus.
In this sense, Circa Sports operates on a model similar to that of SBK Sportsbook, which also competes on the basis of low margin holds. SBK Sportsbook therefore serves as a useful comparison point in the following section.
Circa Sports Odds and Lines
With no betting bonuses and a fairly bare-bones mobile Circa app, we must take a close look at the odds offered and commission taken by Circa Sports to determine if it is worth forgoing the trappings of its well-funded competitors.
Below are comparisons of several betting markets offered by Circa Sports and three other mainstream betting apps:
DraftKings Sportsbook and the BetMGM app operate with significantly more marketing resources, while SBK operates in a similar vein as Circa with low commission being one of its primary selling points.
As the following comparisons show, Circa Sports wasn’t particularly competitive in the soccer example but did offer the best odds for the MMA and baseball markets. As a result, it’s safe to say Circa Sportsbook is worth a look for bettors in search of the best odds.

Circa Sports Betting App
The Circa Sports app is best described as “straight to business” with a simple design and few features. Whereas other apps from bigger brands come equipped with social features, live streaming video and handicapping tools, the Circa Sportsbook app simply provides the odds and takes bets.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it is definitely not the app for bettors who like extra feature and frequent promos. Circa Sports does not sell itself on bells and whistles; its main selling point is providing value through low commissions.
That said, the app is easy to use and navigate. The simple design makes it a simple matter to browse the various sports leagues, compare the odds and place wagers. Users can easily create custom parlays, teasers, and round robins by adding multiple bets to the betting slip and choosing an amount to wager.
iOS and Android users can visit circasports.com for links to download the official Circa Sports mobile app.

Circa Sports Betting Contests
Circa Sports runs two massive sports betting contests every year for the NFL, the Circa Millions and Circa Survivor. This year, Circa Sports has guaranteed $14 million in prizes across both competitions, making them the largest contests of their type.
Both Circa Sports handicapping contests involve making NFL picks every week but vary in their details. In both competitions, entrants stand to win seven-figure payouts for correctly predicting winning NFL teams every week.
Circa Sports Million
The costs $1,000 to enter, and players can purchase up to three entries. Each week, contestants make five NFL picks against the spread, and they get one point for each correct pick, half a point for each tie, and nothing for each loss.
At the end of the season, the players with the most points earn a share in the $6 million+ guaranteed prize pool. Circa Sports charges no rake for its contests, so 100% of every entry fee goes straight to the prize pool.
Whoever finishes with the most points claims the $1 million first-place prize, while the other high-scoring entrants win anywhere from $500,000 to $25,000. Additionally, the Circa Sports Million pays a $100,000 “booby prize” to the last-place finisher with the worst score and a $50,000 runner-up booby prize to the second-to-last place finisher.
The Circa Sports Million also pays at least $300,000 in prizes every quarter-season to the points leaders for Weeks 1-4, Weeks 5-9, Weeks 10-13, and Weeks 14-18:
- Quarter Points Leader: $150,000+
- Quarter 2nd Place Points Leader: $60,000
- Quarter 3rd Place Points Leader: $40,000
- Quarter 4th Place Points Leader: $15,000
- Quarter 5th Place Points Leader: $10,000
- Quarter Last Place “Booby Prize”: $25,000
Circa Sports NFL Survivor Contest
The is a winner-take-all contest with at least $7 million in prize money waiting for the last entrant standing. Players can enter for $1,000 and purchase up to six entries.
Each week, contestants pick one NFL team to win its next game. The entrants who get their picks right continue to the next week, and those who select a team that loses or ties are eliminated.
Players can pick each team just once throughout the season, so they need to plan ahead to ensure they have teams available on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.
Eliminations continue every week until just one entrant remains, and that person receives the entire prize pool worth at least $6 million.
If two or more people remain after 20 weeks, they split the prize pool evenly. Similarly, if all remaining entrants are eliminated in a single round, those who made picks that round split the prize pool evenly. And if anyone finishes with a perfect 20-0 season, they get a $1 million bonus prize.

Circa Sports Betting Markets
Circa Sports focuses primarily on the major US pro and college sports but does cover international leagues and soccer to an extent. The number of wagers offered for any single event (market depth) is not as extensive as can be found elsewhere, but Circa Sports does offer some unique advantages in terms of the types of wagers it is willing to accept.
For instance, Circa Sportsbook is fond of yes/no futures, such as whether each team in the NBA and NFL will win their respective championship and offers the rare ability to build parlays that include futures wagers. In many instances, Circa futures lead the market.
Circa also accepts larger wagers than most sportsbooks, even while promising not to limit winners. As Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens told local media at its Colorado launch, the sportsbook accepts wagers as high as $5,000 to $10,000 on just about every sport. Customers typically begin with a $5,000 betting limit which can be increased from there to $10,000 once a relationship has been established.
Circa Sports offers in-play betting, but its coverage significantly lags behind the competition. Customers can expect to find live odds on the major US sports, but market depth is limited. However, Circa Sports partnered with Deck Prism in early 2021 to improve the speed and accuracy of live odds for the events it does cover.
Currently, Circa Sportsbook accepts wagers on the following sports:
- Football
- Basketball
- Hockey
- Baseball
- Soccer
- Boxing
- MMA
- Tennis
- Auto Racing
- Golf
- Olympics
- Esports
Circa Sports Accepted Deposit Methods
Circa Sportsbook only accepts deposits via Play+, but that one method offers several convenient funding methods.
Customers can sign up for a Play+ account through the Circa Sports app and then upload funds instantly via:
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Bank transfer
- PayPal
After signing up and depositing for the first time, customers will receive a physical Play+ card by mail within 10-14 days. This card is connected to the customer’s Play+ account to facilitate fast electronic withdrawals and cash withdrawals via ATM. Additionally, the Play+ card can be used to make purchases anywhere Discover is accepted.
Circa Sports Customer Support
Customer support at Circa Sportsbook consists of a decent FAQ page that answers basic questions and e-mail support for more specific needs. Considering most sportsbooks on the market today offer 24/7 phone or live chat support, Circa Sportsbook ranks below average in this department.
Circa Sports Responsible Gambling
As a licensed sportsbook, Circa Sports is required by regulations in every state to offer in-app self-exclusion and responsible gaming limits. Customers may log in and visit the “My Profile” area to adjust the following responsible gambling limits.
- Betting Limits: Set a maximum amount that may be wagered per day.
- Deposit Limits: Set a maximum amount that may be deposited per day, week or month.
- Temporary Exclusion: This option allows the player to close his or her account for a custom period. Customers may log in during the temporary exclusion but are prohibited from placing wagers.
- Permanent Exclusion: This option allows customers to prohibit themselves from betting permanently.

Expert Opinion: Is Circa Sports Legit?
Circa Sports is a new name in sports betting, but its Nevada-based leadership team is highly experienced and well-known. Longtime casino owner Derek Stevens launched the first Circa Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas at the Golden Gate in 2019, and the brand has since expanded into mobile betting.
Circa Online Sportsbook brings Nevada-style sports betting to the mobile realm for better and worse. Negative points include limited promotions and a simplistic betting interface. On the other hand, Circa Sports posts very competitive lines and offers higher-than-average betting limits. In summary, Circa Sportsbook may not be the first choice for recreational bettors, but higher-volume customers should keep it in mind when line shopping.
