Fliff Social Sportsbook Review
Fliff is a social sportsbook that leverages sweepstakes gaming laws to offer real-money sports picks to customers in most states.
In states without legal online sportsbooks, Fliff offers a close alternative to online sports betting.
- Legal In Most States
- Sports Picks For Real Payouts
- Pregame And In-Play Markets
Fliff resembles a traditional sportsbook in many ways, including the potential to win real money payouts.
However, its creative approach to sweepstakes gaming provides the legal cover it needs to accept bettors from most of the US.
Our Fliff review will explain how it works, where it’s legal, and how it compares to real sports betting.

How The Fliff Bonus Works
New Fliff users can get a welcome bonus worth up to $100 by signing up and making their first coin package purchase. Every purchase includes a Fliff Cash bonus, but new users get twice the value on their first purchase.
For example, a $4.99 package usually gives customers 25,000 Fliff Coins and 5.00 Fliff Cash, but new users receive 50,000 coins and 10.00 Fliff Cash if it’s their first purchase.
New users can maximize the bonus by purchasing Fliff’s largest package for $99.99. It usually consists of 1 million coins and 100.00 Fliff Cash, but new users get 2 million coins and 200.00 Fliff Cash.
Fliff Cash is redeemable at a 1:1 ratio for real money, so the Fliff Bonus is worth up to $100 in real currency. The Fliff signup page asks for a referral/promo code, but new users can leave that field blank because everyone receives the welcome bonus automatically.
How Fliff Sportsbook Works
The easiest way to think of Fliff is as a sportsbook, but with a few additional rules to ensure it remains legal under the laws that govern sweepstakes in every state.
Fliff Sportsbook operates on two currencies: Fliff Coins and Fliff Cash.
- Fliff Coins: Fliff’s play-money currency used for leaderboard contests and bragging rights – not redeemable for cash. Players can claim free Fliff Coins every two hours or purchase bigger batches in the cashier
- Fliff Cash: The most important currency on Fliff; redeemable for cash at a 1:1 ratio (redeem 1.00 in Fliff Cash for $1.00 in real money)
Once bettors have a Fliff Cash balance, they can use Fliff like an actual sportsbook. Customers can use Fliff cash to bet on sports, earn more Fliff Cash, and redeem it for real money payouts.
In other words, Fliff Cash is the currency that brings Fliff Social Sportsbook to life. Bettors can earn Fliff Cash through several methods:
- As a bonus when purchasing Fliff Coins: Users receive Fliff Cash when they buy Fliff Coins. Players can see how much bonus Fliff Cash they’ll receive before confirming any purchase of Fliff Coins
- As a bonus when collecting Fliff Coins: Anyone who has a zero balance when receiving new Fliff Coins also receives an automatic Fliff Cash bonus
- Through promotional winnings: Players can earn Fliff Cash through free-entry contests hosted on Fliff’s social media accounts
- Request by mail: Players can send a hand-written, stamped #10 envelope by mail to the following address with the words “Fliff Sweepstakes Credits” to receive 5 Fliff Cash credits.

Fliff users can also earn Experience Points as a second avenue to earn real-money prizes. Every time customers refer their friends, purchase coins, and make picks, they earn XP Points at varying rates:
- 1 XP for every 1,000 coins wagered
- 2 XP per challenge completed
- 200 XP for every $5 your referrals spend (up to 10,000 XP per friend)
After earning XP Points, users can redeem them for coin bundles and gift cards to brand-name retailers, restaurants, hotels, and more. Every 100 Experience Points converts to $1.00 toward coin purchases or gift card face value. For example, someone with 10,000 XP points could redeem them for a $100 gift card to Hotels.com, Stub Hub, Bass Pros Shops, or dozens of other retailers.
Fliff Sports Betting Markets
Fliff does not cover as many leagues as its licensed competitors in regulated states, but it boasts a surprising depth of sports betting markets despite its unorthodox business model as a social sportsbook.
Users with Fliff Cash can wager on most professional and college US leagues, plus a smattering of international competitions. The coverage lacks most niche sports, but bettors can choose from hundreds of markets for each day’s major games.
For example, a recent NFL matchup featured nearly 200 markets spanning a range of game results, game props, player props, and alternative lines. Fliff even offers features typically only seen at licensed sportsbooks, such as same-game parlays and daily odds boosts.
One noticeably absent category of wagers is the long-term future, like who will win the next Super Bowl, how many wins a particular team will get this year, and so on. The lack of futures at Fliff is likely a result of local sweepstakes laws that require
Fliff’s league coverage includes:
- Basketball (NCAA and NBA)
- Football (NCAA and NFL)
- Hockey (NHL)
- Soccer (MLS, UEFA, various national leagues)
- Baseball (MLB, KBO)
- MMA (UFC)
- Tennis (ATP, WTA)
- Boxing
Fliff Sportsbook App Review
Fans can download the Fliff sports betting app for iOS or Android to sign up, purchase Fliff Coins, view the lines, and bet on sports.
The Fliff app runs surprisingly well compared to other sweepstakes betting apps – about as well as any mainstream sports betting app. It launches smoothly, responds instantly to button taps, and is generally a pleasure to use while viewing the lines and placing wagers.
Experienced bettors will find the Fliff Sportsbook interface familiar and should have no trouble jumping in. The app even offers in-play betting, although Fliff still trails its brand-name competitors in live data and variety of in-play wagers. While a growing number of licensed sportsbooks offer streaming video and live play-by-play updates, the Fliff in-play wagering interface is fairly barebones by comparison.
The separate wallet and cashier instances needlessly complicate the interface, but overall, it’s not too tough to get the hang of it. Switching between real money and play money wagering is a simple matter of flipping a switch at the top of the screen.
Fliff Deposit Options
As a sweepstakes betting site, Fliff does not accept deposits in the same manner as online sportsbooks.
Instead, customers purchase coin packages and receive Fliff Cash bonuses worth their face value in US dollars. For example, someone who buys a $4.99 coin package also receives 5.00 in Fliff Cash, which is redeemable for $5.00 after playing through it once.
Customers can purchase coin packages with credit cards, debit cards, and instant bank transfers.
Players can withdraw their winnings by redeeming their Fliff Cash at a rate of $1 for every 1.00 in Fliff Cash. It is important to note that sweepstakes laws in three states limit the amount of winnings players may receive in any period:
- New York: $5,000
- Florida: $5,000
- Rhode Island: $500
In addition, Fliff’s state this:
Sponsor/Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to limit a Participant’s redemption of Fliff Cash to the value of USD $1,000 per week. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.
And this:
Fliff Cash is only valid for 30 days from the date you last logged on to your Customer Account and will thereafter automatically expire.
Fliff Customer Support
Customer support is not a strong point for Fliff. The Fliff app does not even provide a method to contact anyone for help, but users can send an e-mail to or visit getfliff.com/contact to submit a ticket.
Support is available seven days a week, but Fliff is hesitant to promise much more than that, with the website only promising that they “aim to reply promptly.”
Fliff Social Sportsbook FAQ
Expert Opinion: Is Fliff Legit?
Fliff is relatively young and therefore lacks the long-term reputation of its biggest competitors, but it has the backing of some of the industry’s most prominent investors.
The legality of sweepstakes betting sites hasn’t been tested in court, but Fliff is far from the first gaming platform to operate on the sweepstakes model. As a result, Fliff seems to have solid legal footing.
Fliff experienced a rough patch early in its existence when a customer publicly accused Fliff of confiscating nearly $15,000 for exceeding a little-known maximum winnings rule. The accusation – and Fliff’s initial response to it – generated some controversy on social media.
However, Fliff rebounded by promptly paying the customer and issuing explaining the problem and outlining corrective actions it had taken to prevent the issue from reoccurring.
Ultimately, the misunderstanding came down to the fact that sweepstakes law in some states limits the maximum amount players can win within a period. The law applies to all sweepstakes operators, but Fliff had not clearly communicated the implications to customers.
Since addressing the issue and making improvements on its end, Fliff has sailed in smooth waters since. The biggest concern if Fliff is legit going forward is Fliff’s policy that states users’ Fliff Cash balances can expire if they don’t log in for 30 days.
