Sleeper Bonus Details

New Sleeper users receive a 100% first deposit bonus worth up to $100 with a 1x play-through requirement.

The offer’s terms and conditions are overwhelmingly favorable to customers, with one caveat: it can take up to 30 days to receive the bonus funds.

However, the Sleeper DFS bonus has an excellent rollover of just 1x, and players have a full year to clear it by entering paid contests. For example, a Sleeper player with $100 in bonus funds would need to enter $100 worth of paid contests within a year to withdraw any winnings obtained by using the bonus.

Sleeper Picks Review

Sleeper pick’em fantasy contests allow fans to choose higher or lower on a wide range of athlete statistics to win fixed payouts of up to 100x the initial wager.

In states without legal online sports betting, Sleeper Picks is the next best alternative. It feels a lot like building parlays out of player prop bets, except it’s legal in more states.

The rules are simple:

• Select two or more athletes
• Pick “more” or “less” on one projected statistic for each athlete in his next game, like passing yards, three-pointers, strikeouts, and so on
• Choose an entry fee
• Get paid if all (or most of) your picks are correct

Every prediction has a payout multiplier that explains how much you stand to win if your pick is correct. Payout multipliers are cumulative, so as you add picks to your slate, the potential payout for getting every prediction correct increases.

Additionally, you can choose from two payout structures:

• Max: The all-or-nothing option. If you get a single pick incorrect, you win nothing. If you get them all correct, you earn a large payout.
• Combo: The combo option offers a lower maximum payout for getting every prediction correct, but you can earn secondary prizes even if you don’t finish with a perfect slate.

Sleeper DFS displays all potential payouts before you submit an entry, so you’ll always know what you stand to win before paying.

One area where Sleeper DFS lags the competition is league coverage. Some other fantasy pick’em sites cover a vast range of sports, while Sleeper focuses on just a handful of leagues:

Additionally, Sleeper Fantasy regularly introduces new features and capabilities, like new statistical projection categories and expanded athlete views to see all projections and multipliers for any player quickly.

Note: Sleeper pick’em fantasy contests are only available on the mobile app. It can be confusing if you log in for the first time via desktop because the Sleeper website does not mention Picks at all. This lack of context is frustrating, but it’s probably a result of Sleeper overcorrecting in response to complaints that the website was recommending Picks too often to players interested in other fantasy formats.

Sleeper PicksVS Explained

PicksVS is a pick’em fantasy variant Sleeper DFS offers in states that prohibit player-vs-house contests.

The general idea in PicksVS is the same as Picks, with the goal being to make accurate over/under predictions on athletes’ statistical projections. The difference is that players compete against one another in pools to win prizes rather than against the house.

In each PicksVS contest, you draft 2-8 athletes, make a more/less prediction for each, and choose an entry fee. Then, Sleeper DFS places your slate into a pool with other users’ slates, where it earns points based on the accuracy of your picks.

There are two ways to win money in Sleeper PicksVS contests:

• Solo Payouts: If you get enough picks correct, you’ll win a payout regardless of how the other players in your pool perform. When creating your slate, you can choose “Max” to go for a bigger payout (requires a perfect slate) or “Combo” to activate secondary payouts even if you submit an imperfect slate.
• Pool Payout: If you get the highest score in your pool, you’ll earn a 100x payout. If multiple players tie for the highest score, you’ll split the top prize equally. For example, if five players tie for the high score, you’ll each earn a 20x payout.

Note: You can only earn one payout per slate. If you submit a perfect slate and get the highest score in your pool, you’ll receive whichever payout is larger.

Sleeper Daily Draft Review

Sleeper offers Daily Draft contests at buyins ranging from $1 to $1,000.

Daily Drafts are Sleeper’s most DFS-like contests, but they’re substantially different than the daily fantasy contests fans play at alternative sites like DraftKings and FanDuel.

For one, Sleeper DFS does not offer mega GPP fantasy contests with thousands of entrants and seven-figure prize pools. All Sleeper Daily Drafts are either heads-up contests (winner-take-all) or eight-team competitions (prizes paid to 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place finishers).

Additionally, players must enter a $1 contest to begin and participate in an eight-round snake draft with 15-second pick timers. After the draft finishes, players have ten minutes to decide whether to enter additional contests with higher entry fees and bigger payouts.

The Sleeper DFS app is excellent in some ways and unnecessarily frustrating in others.

Where the Sleeper DFS App Excels

The Sleeper Fantasy Sports app excels in capabilities and features. This is the most full-featured fantasy sports app on the market, and no others come close.

Daily fantasy and pick’em players will find extensive resources to conduct stats research, participate in varying types of fantasy competitions, and immerse themselves in the world of fantasy sports.

For example, the feeds tab shows quick news updates, podcasts, stats, strategy discussions, and more about your favorite teams and athletes.

The pick’em area provides detailed player stats, one-click “all stats” views to see all available projections for any particular player, detailed game logs for every player, and much more.

Where the Sleeper App Lacks

Unsurprisingly, considering the many capabilities outlined above in our Sleeper review, the app can be overwhelming.

As counterintuitive as it may seem, fans who primarily play recreational leagues in person with their friends may find the app more comprehensible. Sleeper’s various season-long tools address challenges private fantasy leagues have dealt with for years.

Players accustomed to daily salary draft and pick’em fantasy contests will have to adjust their expectations. Most pick’em and DFS apps are bare-bones and straightforward by comparison.

In contrast, the Sleeper app throws a lot of information at users on nearly every page. Put simply, it’s not newbie-friendly.

Sleeper DFS could improve in that regard by improving some of its design choices. For example, the bland logo users must tap to access the wallet and deposit funds is hard to identify. Many menu navigation options lack context and specificity, so new users will have to buckle down and learn how to navigate it through rote practice.

That said, once players get past the steep learning curve, they’ll find it easy to zip around the app to manage their various leagues, make picks, draft players, and look up stats.

The other issue with the Sleeper app is more pervasive – it can be buggy for some players, especially Android users. There’s a long history of complaints about the app freezing during drafts, geolocation issues erroneously restricting certain game types, and generic customer support responses asking players to delete and reinstall the app.

Sleeper Deposits and Withdrawals

Sleeper comes up a bit short on deposit and withdrawal methods, but it covers the basics:

For responsible gambling and security reasons, Sleeper limits deposits to a maximum of $1,000 per day (and $1,000 per month in Massachusetts / $2,500 in Tennessee due to state law).

Additionally, Sleeper does not allow players to deposit if their wallet balances exceed $10,000.

Sleeper’s maximum withdrawal amounts are $1,000 per transaction and $5,000 per day.

Sleeper DFS Responsible Gambling

The Sleeper knowledge base includes an in-depth responsible gambling guide with links and phone numbers to problem gambling resources in every state, tips for playing responsibility, and information for setting self-imposed limits.

Players can establish voluntary alerts and limits in the following categories:

• Monthly Deposits: Alert or limit on how much you deposit per month
• Single Entry Fee: Alert or limit on how much you pay to enter a single contest
• Weekly Entries: Alert or limit on the number of entries you submit per week
• Total Losses: Alert or limit when your total losses exceed a predetermined maximum per day, week, or month

Sleeper Customer Support

Sleeper ranks a bit below average in the customer support department.

The biggest negative point is that Sleeper does not offer phone support. The only contact methods are e-mail and live chat.

In a test query, Sleeper’s live chat agents responded to a live chat question within a few minutes. The responses aren’t fast enough for real-time assistance, but Sleeper’s customer support is significantly better than the 12-hour response times fans receive at other fantasy sports sites that only offer e-mail support.

Sleeper DFS chat reps are courteous and competent. We had one issue where we asked a question about Daily Drafts, and the support rep responded by stating Sleeper Picks isn’t available in our state. Not only was that an answer to the wrong question, but it was also factually incorrect.

However, after we clarified the question, the chat rep responded quickly, accurately, and resolved the issue successfully.

Expert Opinion: Is Sleeper Legit?

Sleeper Fantasy Sports has been in operation since 2017, follows all state laws, and has an overwhelmingly positive reputation among users.

The most common Sleeper complaints involve two annoying but survivable issues:

• The frequency with which the Sleeper app promotes its pick’em contests (Sleeper has since added an option in the account settings menu to disable all Picks and Daily Draft notices)
• A tendency for the Sleeper app to crash or lag, but only for some users

Those issues aside, the Sleeper DFS app is a well-rounded fantasy sports product that offers something for all types of players, whether they want help running their multi-season leagues with friends or quick pick’em style action on game day.
