For full disclosure, the Arizona Lottery has publicly stated it does not endorse third-party couriers.

In late 2021, the lottery not to use “third-party apps and websites” to buy Arizona Lottery tickets online because it does not regulate courier services. The Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery even accused third-party couriers of “not operating legally” at the time, although its debatable if he had that part correct.

Prominent lottery couriers only operate in states where they have strong legal footing and have conducted their businesses openly in Arizona for years. For example, Jackpocket secured a relatively partnership with Circle K in 2023 to fulfill all lottery ticket orders placed on the app by Arizona customers.

Players can get the official Arizona Lottery app by searching for “AZ Lottery Players Club” in the App Store or Google Play Store.

No account is necessary to download and browse the AZ Lottery app, but it’s worth signing up for a Players Club account anyways for access to the most useful features, including the ticket scanner. Plus, Players Club accounts are free and unlock ongoing rewards.

Once they’re logged in, players can use the app’s full range of features, including:

  • Scan or manually enter tickets to check for winners
  • Enter tickets for Players Club Points
  • Enter second-chance drawings
  • View current Arizona lottery promotions
  • View information about all Arizona lottery games and scratchers, including play instructions, odds of winning, and prizes remaining
  • Custom jackpot alerts and winning number notifications

The Arizona Lottery app also doubles as a loyalty program hub, where players can manage their Players Club accounts, visit the Lucky Lounge, convert points, and enter rewards sweepstakes for cash prizes.

Suggested improvements:

  • Revert to one-click scan + points redemptions: A past version of the AZ Lottery app checked tickets for winners and redeemed them for Players Club points simultaneously in one scan. Now, players must scan each ticket once to see if it’s a winner, then scan it again for Players Club points, which is especially tedious for players with multiple tickets.
  • Enable ticket scanning without Players Club accounts: The Arizona Lottery app should allow ticket scanning without signing in as a gesture of good will. Infrequent lottery players may not want to join the Players Club, so it feels coercive being forced to sign up for an account just to check the occasional ticket.
  • Add a retail location finder: The Arizona Lottery should add a tool whereby users can find the nearest authorized retailer because third-party map apps are often outdated or don’t return complete results when searching for lottery locations. Location finders are standard in other state lottery apps, so Arizona is behind the curve in this regard.
  • Fix bugs faster: The Arizona Lottery app works fine most of the time, but random bugs and error messages are too frequent for an official lottery app. The AZ Lottery should assign at least one developer to investigating bug reports and implementing fixes.

The Arizona Lottery has one of the most developed lottery rewards programs, dubbed the Players Club.

The AZ Lottery Players Club rewards players for purchasing tickets, participating in promotions, inviting friends, and much more. Additionally, Players Club members can access the Lucky Lounge to play digital games and enter additional cash sweepstakes drawings.

Players can join the Arizona Lottery Players Club for free by registering online at or within the AZ Lottery app.

How the Players Club Works

The AZ Lottery rewards program revolves around Players Club Points, redeemable for various rewards, such as:

  • Coupons for free lottery tickets
  • Entries into cash drawings
  • Access to Players Club promotions
  • Lucky Lounge tokens

There are several ways to earn Players Club Points:

  • Scanning eligible, non-winning scratchers and draw tickets in the Players Club app (10 points per dollar spent on AZ Lottery products)
  • Entering non-winning tickets at the Players Club website
  • Completing missions, like participating in surveys, playing specific games, and uploading a profile photo
  • Referring friends
  • Participating in various promotions

Members may occasionally receive AZ Lottery promo codes via e-mail, push notifications, and official social media accounts to participate in Players Club promotions. If you have an Arizona Lottery promo code, you can .

AZ Lottery Lucky Lounge

All Players Club members get access to Lucky Lounge, where they can play digital games to earn entries into additional sweepstakes drawings. The currency of Lucky Lounge is tokens, which members use to play games and enter additional drawings. There are three ways to get Lucky Lounge tokens:

  • Converting Players Club Points into tokens (10 tokens for every 100 points redeemed)
  • Playing Lucky Lounge games and winning
  • Purchasing token pages (starting at $5 for 5,000 tokens)

As players accumulate tokens, they can use them to enter any of Lucky Lounge’s recurring sweepstakes drawings to win cash prizes:

  • Margarita Mondays: Weekly drawing with $250 top prize and 36 winners
  • Wednesday Paloma: Weekly drawing with $500 top prize and 15 winners
  • Friday Martinis: Bi-weekly drawing with $1,000 top prize and 41 winners
  • Monthly Mojitos: Monthly drawing with a $5,000 prize for one winner
  • Quarterly Cosmo: Quarterly drawing with a $10,000 prize for one winner

The Arizona Lottery offers six major draw games plus various hourly draw games, print-and-win tickets, and scratchers. Here’s how they work, their drawing schedules, and where to learn more.

Mega Millions and Powerball are Arizona’s biggest jackpot games, capable of producing billion-dollar top prizes. They’re also the hardest to win because Mega Millions and Powerball sell tickets nationwide, so you’re competing with millions of people for those eye-catching jackpots.

Both games cost $2 to play and each offers a $1 upgrade option to activate enhanced non-jackpot prizes.

Arizona players should note that Mega Millions and Powerball set their schedules in the eastern time zone, so draw times and ticket purchase cutoff times change by an hour twice a year. Tickets purchased after the cutoff deadline automatically enter the next scheduled drawing. Fortunately, Mega Millions and Powerball share a ticket purchase deadline in Arizona, so that makes it a little easier to keep track.

Fantasy 5 is a traditional lottery game with a drawing where your goal is to match the 5 numbers you’ve picked with the 5 numbers drawn during the lottery. The 5 numbers must be from between 1 and 41, inclusive. You can choose your own numbers or use a quick pick on the vending machine where you buy your ticket.

It costs $1 to play Fantasy 5, but you can add an extra $1 or $2 to play a bonus game called “EXTRA!”. This bonus game gives you a shot at a $250 or $500 instant win.

One fun feature about Fantasy 5 is the “doubler” feature. About 10% of the tickets in Fantasy 5 are randomly assigned “doubler” status, which means that you get to double your prize (as long as it’s not the big jackpot.)

Fantasy 5 drawings are held every day, Monday through Sunday.

Fantasy 5 Paytable

  • 5 numbers match – jackpot (at least $50,000) – 1 in 749,398
  • 4 numbers match – $500 – 1 in 4163
  • 3 numbers match – $5 – 1 in 119
  • 2 numbers match – $1 – 1 in 11

The jackpot starts at $50,000 and rises until it’s won.

The Arizona Lottery has dozens of scratch-offs available at any given time at prices ranging from $1 to $50 per play. The lineup changes often, but top prizes typically range from a couple hundred dollars to several million, depending on the game.

Players can for an updated list of top prizes remaining for all active Arizona scratchers.

The Pick costs $1 per play, and you pick six numbers from between 1 and 44. Your goal is to match as many of those numbers as possible to the numbers selected during the drawing.

  • Match 6 numbers – Jackpot ($1+ million) – 1 in 7,059,052
  • Match 5 numbers – $2000 – 1 in 30,961

  • Match 3 numbers – $3 – 1 in 42

The starting jackpot is $1 million and increases after every drawing without a winner.

The Arizona State Lottery holds the drawings for The Pick on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.

Triple Twist looks like a simple game similar to The Pick, but as the name implies, it involves several twists that make it a completely unique game.

Here are the big differences:

  • It costs $2 to play instead of $1.
  • You choose six numbers, but they’re between 1 and 42 (instead of 44).
  • You get 2 bonus rows of numbers chosen by the computer.
  • Drawings for Triple Twist are held every night.
  • If you win on any of your three rows of numbers, you get paid.
  • The starting jackpot is $200,000.

Triple Twist Paytable

  • Match all 6 numbers – Jackpot $200,000+ – 1 in 5,245,786
  • Match 5 numbers – $500 – 1 in 23, 286
  • Match 4 numbers – $10 – 1 in 555.1
  • Match 3 numbers – $2 – 1 in 36.7

That’s for the main game.

But you also have payouts for combined lines, as follows:

  • 5 out of 18 – $2 – 1 in 15.7

If you want to claim a prize of $100 or less, you can do so at ANY authorized lottery retailer.

If you want to claim a prize of $101 to $599, you can do so at SOME authorized lottery retailers – check with them first.

If you want to claim a prize of $600 or more, you must fill out a winner’s claim form and mail it to the lottery office. You can also bring it in person.
